45F Mt FUJI

video projected on a wall with a white hanging scroll in the middle
Kobo-Chika gallery, Tokyo, 2014

"45F Mt Fuji" (45th floor Mount Fuji) is a moving image and sound installation piece based on the single photography of a man observing Mount Fuji from the observatory deck of the Tokyo City Hall. By a play on symmetry, superposition and color, the work morphes the sacred mountain as seen by the camera into a representation flirting with the pictorial tradition. "45F Mt Fuji" was premiered during the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Vision in Tokyo in 2014.
